Cristiano Ronaldo adds another trophy to his collection

Cristiano Ronaldo has done it again. He has won this year’s ballon d'or in competition with Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer. Cristiano Ronaldo has made a point to show why he is best of this current time and why he will remain the best.  Ronaldo actions prior to winning this year’s ballon d'or has led to many controversies in the media as his attitude seemed a little cocky as he was presented the award. The moment he went on stage he started screaming leaving everyone watching shocked in state. It seemed that there was literally another Ronaldo who was receiving the award.  When Ronaldo won the ballon d'or last year, he was humble and his whole presence along with his heart-warming speech with the spark of tears in his eyes left everyone who was watching as emotional as he was.

Ronaldo was criticized on how he would never fit into David Beckham’s jersey but did he prove them wrong. After a few seasons in Manchester United Ronaldo starting being at his peak where he was a goal scoring machine who was Manchester United’s main source for victory. He became recognised in 2007 where he was 3rd in place for world player of the year falling short to Fernando Torres and Ricardo Kaka. He well truly established himself in 2008 where he was the top scorer for the English premiere and that he won the world player of the year.

Cristiano Ronaldo started of playing football for club Sporting Lisbon in 2001 where he was not a person that was known. He was an unidentified soccer player who wanted to best the best at what he was doing. During that era of soccer, it was Luiz Ronaldo who was labelled as “The Real Ronaldo”. A player from Brazil who was currently playing for Real Madrid Football Club. Cristiano Ronaldo was just a shadow upon him who shared the same name.  During 2003, Sir Alex Ferguson the manager of Manchester United was looking for young talent. He observed how Ronaldo was doing in Sporting Lisbon and could tell that he was a rising star. David Beckham was leaving Manchester United and the number 7 jersey was presented to Cristiano Ronaldo.

There was still a threat that was arising as Lionel Messi was also arising at his prime and he won the ballon d'or four years in a row leaving Ronaldo empty handed. Ronaldo has now got back his hands on the driver’s seat after two consecutive ballon d'or triumphs. He is labelled as a complete footballer with all the attributes. He is going to reach 30 this year and unlike other footballers, he is getting better as he is aging and he is still not done filling up his trophy closet.
